Faripour A Forouhar

Biography

Faripour an established American contemporary painter who paints beyond avocation.

His home is in New England but he grew up in high mountains of Asia Minor and travels to Rockies several times a year for painting and backcountry skiing.

He has studied painting in Teheran University School of Fine Arts during college years. Later he studied with late Edgar Whitney from Pratt, NY, graduate of courses in Grand Central Academy of Fine Art, NY and participated in workshops sharing experience with other painters. He is a scholar in the field of art and visual perception as well as art history. He conducts academic courses on Art and Visual Perception in the University of Connecticut school of Medicine.



He has moved from impressionist watercolors done plein aire ala prima to considered oil on canvas and back to more impressionistic simplified landscapes that evoke in the beholder the impact of first experience of painter. He travels to snow covered mountains fields of North and South America and Alps for backcountry skiing and painting. His response to this landscape is poetic and reflects the atmospheric and the mood of nature that infuses the composition and the character of the painting.

He is an elected exhibiting artist member of Rockport Art Association, North shore Art Association, Lyme Art Association and Oil Painters of America where he exhibits frequently.
He has won many awards and honors.
